Overview

State Bank of India invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for the recruitment of Specialist Cadre Officers (SCO) on a contract basis within its Wealth Management vertical. This recruitment drive aims to fill 207 positions across seven distinct roles, distributed across 17 SBI Circles nationwide. The engagement is contractual in nature, initially for five years with the potential for renewal for an additional four years based on institutional discretion.

Vacancies are distributed across SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and UR categories, with horizontal reservations for persons with benchmark disabilities. Applicants for positions such as Relationship Manager–Team Lead, Investment Specialist, Investment Officer, VP Wealth, and AVP Wealth must indicate three preferred SBI Circles during application. Circle preference cannot be modified post-application, and the Bank reserves the right to place selected officers in any of its offices, associates, subsidiaries, or affiliated organizations as operational requirements dictate.

Eligibility Criteria

Zonal Head (Retail): Candidates must hold a graduate degree from a government-recognized university or institution. An MBA in Banking, Finance, or Marketing, along with certifications such as CFP, CFA, or NISM, are preferred. A minimum of 15 years of experience in managing sales operations within Wealth Management, Retail Banking, or Asset Management Companies is required, including at least 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience managing substantial teams of Relationship Managers and Team Leads.

Regional Head: Graduate qualification is mandatory, with MBA and certifications in CFP, CFA, or NISM being advantageous. Candidates must possess a minimum of 12 years of specialized experience in relationship management, ideally within the wealth management sector with established banking institutions, wealth management firms, or AMCs, incorporating at least 5 years of experience leading large professional teams.

Relationship Manager–Team Lead: A graduate degree is essential, with MBA and NISM/CFP/CFA qualifications being preferred. Applicants should have accumulated a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in relationship management, particularly within wealth management environments, with prior exposure to team leadership roles being advantageous.

Investment Specialist: A postgraduate degree or diploma in Finance, Accountancy, Business Management, Commerce, Economics, Capital Markets, Banking, Insurance, or Actuarial Science is required. Alternatively, CA or CFA qualification is acceptable. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 6 years of post-qualification professional experience as an investment advisor, counselor, officer, or product team member within wealth management firms or AMCs.

Investment Officer: Postgraduate qualification in the fields mentioned above, or CA/CFA certification, is mandatory. Applicants require a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in similar investment advisory or product development roles within wealth management or asset management organizations.

VP Wealth: A graduate degree is required, with MBA and NISM V-A/XXI-A, CFP, or CFA certifications being preferred. Applicants must have a minimum of 6 years of professional experience in sales and marketing with reputable banking institutions, wealth management firms, or AMCs.

Selection Process

The recruitment process comprises multiple stages: initial shortlisting based on submitted credentials, followed by a structured interview assessment. Selected candidates will participate in CTC (Cost to Company) negotiation rounds prior to final appointment. Appointment will be formalized through a contractual agreement, initially valid for 5 years with potential extension based on organizational requirements and individual performance.
