Overview
Bank of Baroda (BOB) has announced a recruitment drive for talented sports professionals to join as Guest Players for the year 2026. This initiative aims to engage skilled individuals in Cricket and Table Tennis disciplines on a purely temporary and contractual basis for a duration of 12 months. Selected players will represent Bank of Baroda in various tournaments and events. It is important for applicants to note that this engagement does not constitute an employer-employee relationship for regular employment and does not confer any right to permanent appointment or absorption within the bank. Vacancy Details
A total of 17 Guest Player positions are available across two sports disciplines:
- Cricket (Male): 9 vacancies
- Batsmen: 3 Posts
- Fast Bowlers: 2 Posts
- Spinners: 2 Posts
- All-Rounders: 2 Posts
- Table Tennis (Male): 4 vacancies (Singles)
- Table Tennis (Female): 4 vacancies (Singles)
Each selected Guest Player will receive a monthly retainership of Rs. 25,000. Additional financial benefits may be applicable as per Bank of Baroda's existing Sports Policy.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Applicants must be Indian citizens.
Age Limit
Candidates should be between 18 and 30 years of age as on September 23, 2026.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must have successfully passed the 10th Standard from a recognized board.
Sports Qualification
Candidates are required to be local club-level players and must fulfill at least one of the following sports achievement criteria:
- Represented a State, Union Territory, or India in a national or international competition.
- Secured a medal in the Junior National Championships.
- Won a medal in the Khelo India Youth Games (age category above 18 years).
- Obtained a medal in the Khelo India Winter Games.
- Achieved a medal in the Khelo India University Games.
- Secured a medal in a School Games Federation of India (SGFI) competition in the relevant sport.
- Represented a university in an Inter-University Tournament organized by the Inter-University Sports Board.
- Represented a State or Union Territory school team in national school sports or games conducted by the All India School Games Federation.
Authorities Eligible to Issue Sports Certificates:
- International Competition: Secretary of the National Federation of the concerned game.
- National Competition: Secretary of the National Federation or Secretary of the State/Union Territory Association of the concerned game.
- Inter-University Tournament: Dean of Sports or officer in charge of sports at the concerned university.
- National Sports/Games for Schools: Director, Additional Director, Joint Director, or Deputy Director in charge of school sports in the State Directorate of Public Instructions or Education.
- Khelo India University, Youth, or Winter Games: Designated officer or officer in charge from the Sports Authority of India.
Selection Process
The selection process for Bank of Baroda Guest Players involves the following stages:
- Application Scrutiny and Shortlisting: Applications will be thoroughly reviewed based on the specified eligibility criteria.
- Field Trials: Shortlisted applicants will be invited for field trials conducted in Mumbai. Candidates must secure at least 50 marks out of 100 to qualify.
- Final Merit List: A final merit list will be prepared in descending order of marks obtained by eligible applicants.
Marks Distribution:
- Age of the Candidate: 20 marks
- Representation of State/Union Territory at National Level: 15 marks
- Representation of India at International Level: 15 marks
- Field Trial - Physical Fitness and Endurance: 20 marks
- Field Trial - Sport-Specific Skills, Knowledge, Technique, and Tactical Understanding: 20 marks
- Field Trial - Behavioural Attributes: 10 marks
- Total: 100 marks
Tie-Breaking Rule: In case of equal marks, preference will be given to players who have represented India in an international competition with clearance from the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
