Bank of Baroda, through its New Delhi Zone, has announced a recruitment drive for talented individuals to join as Guest Players (Cricket). This initiative aims to fill 8 vacancies for a contractual period of 12 months on a retainership basis. Vacancy Details

A total of 8 male Guest Player vacancies are available for the Cricket team. These positions are structured across specific roles within the team:

  • Batsmen: 3 Vacancies
  • Fast Bowlers: 2 Vacancies
  • Spinner All-Rounders: 3 Vacancies

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
  • Educational Qualification: Applicants must have successfully completed a minimum of the 10th Standard from a recognized educational board.
  • Sports Qualification: Candidates must possess significant sports achievements. This includes representing a State/U.T. or the country at National or International competitions, being a medal winner in Junior National Championships, Khelo India Youth Games (age above 18 years), Khelo India Winter Games, Khelo India University Games, or School Games Federation of India (SGFI). Alternatively, candidates who have represented their University in Inter-University Tournaments or State/U.T. School Team in National Sports/games conducted by the All India School Games Federation are also eligible.
  • Age Limit: As of October 07, 2026, candidates should be between 18 and 30 years of age.

Selection Process

The selection methodology for the Guest Player (Cricket) positions comprises two main stages:

  1. Application Scrutiny and Shortlisting: All submitted applications will undergo a thorough review to ensure candidates meet the specified eligibility criteria. Shortlisted applicants will then proceed to the next stage.
  2. Field Trials: Eligible candidates will participate in comprehensive field trials. These trials are designed to assess various attributes, including physical fitness and endurance (20 marks), sport-specific skills (knowledge, technique, and tactical understanding - 20 marks), and behavioral attributes (10 marks). Additionally, marks are allotted based on the candidate's age (up to 20 marks) and level of national/international representation (up to 30 marks). The overall evaluation is out of 100 marks, and candidates must achieve a minimum of 50% (50 marks) to qualify. A merit list will be prepared in descending order based on the total marks obtained, and final selections will be made from this list to match the number of available vacancies.

  2. Fill out the application form completely and accurately, ensuring it is duly signed.
  3. Prepare clear scanned copies of the filled application form and all necessary supporting documents and certificates. This includes a recent passport-size photograph, proof of date of birth, 10th Standard Pass Certificate/Mark Sheet, a valid Photo Identity Proof, proof of an active email ID, certificates/awards/medals validating sports qualifications, relevant participation certificates (National/International/State/University/Khelo India/School-level), a brief sports profile/bio-data detailing achievements, and any other pertinent documents.
  4. Compose an email with the exact subject line: “APPLICATION FOR ENGAGEMENT AS GUEST PLAYER ON RETAINERSHIP BASIS – NEW DELHI CRICKET TEAM”.
